through their mouths came their lasting virtue

still concave movement sunken tens

no less burdened

threefold deliverance unless convergence

and then nightly grit and

suffused in sand until it glistened

laid bare for us to witness

beheld,       no objection in the desire line

a reflex is     a green crescendo and it exerts its movement

felled again inside circular logic

spun at the outer edge and held, tension resists any freefall

taut still and at the brim

sightline trained again, spins then orients

listen now the grid is nearly finished

every graphite quatrain its own containment

abuts the border and the frame

still anything can writhe through, slick and pinprick

we all once saw it, mercurial and cut its groove

let the decadent finish and decay work their vessels

all elegance now ensnared

luxury in allegiance— shrouded and our hands are held

assurance granted in a vertical slat

floorboards guard the urgent lintel

handle flush against the floor

all barren kingdoms came last night

in a lowland dream appeared both host and apparition

silent except for when they spoke

through their mouths came their lasting virtue

we each turned our backs to hear their creed

pelted down all crescendo

all urgent timbres call us back

they spoke

all drifted timbres grafted now

I am thirty days across December

why let the crest drift?

built a cradle and crane as fastened instrument

resist the weight and see it’s leaden— lachrymose, I am loosened and green

all decades a vaunted finish

at the epitaph of what did the grid finish?

and what did the grid commit?

four corners, aseptic in their approach

cinched corners

staunch and knitted, such ochre arrangements

spilling forth across the avenues

advancing and viscous floral finish

we were hidden in the filmy range of nimbus cloud coverage

and through its fissures the cellular, ulterior sky became

its crimson future crumbles then

almost ventured at the still-life

vaunted so the burden lifts

blue algae bloomed and crest fell then

nightingale and coloration swallows and acuity

crimson does it easy now

still psalms and ribbons bowed

handle flush against the floor

casework at the foundation

ghost-tens and three-fold logic

what rests just under

sequential triplicate takes time like juniper jade or mantis

or a suggestion to let it be                  so it can give

bend and let the chorus see retrieval

let it take limb for limb vaunted coverage

split hymns and splayed psalms

percussive thirds round the mantel

still the drift is staunch and knitted, such ochre arrangements, oracle

any urgency inside the pine boxes succumbs to

jade juniper or mantis

mantis then to secretion, a curtain folded back against

operatic logic

housed inside uncut timbres

it lets them ring out

lets the silt echo oracle

all thirty kingdoms came last night

in a lowland dream appeared both host and apparition

jagged edges and then resting, curved

cultivated at the end of December

dressed the timetable and the pine boxes

thirty-seven times the question

mount the stones and should the chorus sound

circular logic in the quiet room

if the crypt is finished then let them in

gilded logic came last night

it said to me what it said

all attribution and covenant

all baseline and promise

all foundation and from the ground up

thirsty in its logic

still psalms and ribbons bowed so

the entanglement is what is given

work the area and make it tender

felled in urgency so the invitation rests

handle flush against the floor

future ghost-tens and three-fold logic

beamed logic then radial crests

the avenues brimmed with silken water

send everything with innuendo

radial crest and pitcher hover

in a dream last night

every kingdom finally disposed

it was operatic

at the ending, it was governed by the final frailty

future lay a furnace then, kingdom brick by brick then felled

Haussmann’s logic or a century foregone

every lit lantern waxes endings

preservation was all they meant

decay was at altitude and all the rest was siren song

let it canter and keen, fold in lament and breadth

breath’s surrender and crest with the next wave

the structure bears its only logic, though heaven did want sentiment

through the velvet texture became a future
